Lee and Ford move on

Lee won a scrappy game with Irishman Michael Judge 5-2, while Ford edged out Anthony Hamilton.

In his match with Judge, Lee never had to produce a break over 50 but was still able to run out a relatively easy victor.

He took the first three frames of the day to set-up the victory, and although Judge got it back to 4-2, a break of 47 in the final frame helped him secure the win.

Ford's match with Hamilton was a much tighter affair, with a knife-edge final frame being won 70-68 by Ford.

A break of 136 had seemingly put Hamilton in command as it put him into a 4-3 lead, but Ford produced the goods in the final two frames to seal the win.

Ford will now play now play world champion Graeme Dott in the second round, while Lee will takes on the winner of the Shaun Murphy v Ricky Walden first round match.
