Ding into last four

Lee had looked to be in good shape early on, as he recovered from losing the first frame to win two tight frames in a row to take a 2-1 advantage.

However, Ding then started to show the kind of break building form that helped him to polish off a 147 earlier in the competition, as successive breaks of 105 and 76 put him 3-2 in front.

The crucial frame was then the sixth one which could have gone either way, but Ding nicked it 61-60 to take command of the match.

A break of 98 put him 5-2 up, and he then polished off the match with yet another impressive break, this time of 80, to book his place in the semi-finals.

In the last four he will now play the winner of the Stephen Hendry v Shaun Murphy match, which takes place this evening.
