Neil Robertson beat world champion Mark Williams 6-4 on Thursday to reach the semi-finals of the Players Championship.
Williams took a tense opening frame, then moving two ahead before Robertson pulled one back despite a half-century break from the Welshman.
The 'Thunder from Down Under' then proceeded to rattle off four frames in a row, all with half-centuries in them.
The 2010 World Champion knocked in breaks of 63, 62, 95 and 75 that forced Williams to respond with a 56 to keep himself in it.
Williams then edged another tense frame before a break of 54 saw Robertson into the final four.
He will face Masters Champion Judd Trump on Friday for a place in the final.
In the late match on Thursday Mark Allen knocked out Stuart Bingham 6-4.
Allen hit a century break of 108 on his way to victory and he will face the winner of Friday's huge quarter-final clash between Ronnie O'Sullivan and John Higgins.
