Reanne Evans sinks long red in World Championship qualifier

Reanne Evans will take her place on the main professional World Snooker Tour next season despite losing 4-3 to Bai Yulu of China in the Women's British Open final.
The 12-time world champion secured a new two-year card after nearest rival Ng On Yee of Hong Kong was edged out 3-2 by teenager Bai at the quarter-final stage.
Evan regains the world No. 1 spot in the women's game with her run to the title match at Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall on Sunday.
Thailand’s Baipat Siripaporn had already claimed the other main tour spot after winning the women's world title in March.
Evans made breaks of 75 and 55 to lead Bai 3-2, but saw her talented 19-year-old opponent claim the final two frames for her first major tournament victory.
The consolation for the Dudley player comes in consolidating her spot on the main circuit for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns.
There are four spots on the elite tour available via the women's tour.
Mink Nutcharut and Rebecca Kenna have another year of their respective tour cards to run with Evans securing an immediate return by progressing further than On Yee at the British Open, the final event of the season.
The Championship League is the first ranking event of the new season with Leicester hosting the various groups of the competition between June 26-July 21.
World champion Luca Brecel lifted the title last year with a 3-1 win over Lu Ning and will be among the favourites with Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Selby and Judd Trump among the leading men who competed in last year's event.
