Bingham raced into a four-frame lead following runs of 57, 84 and 124 but Day rallied to lead 6-5 courtesy of breaks of 62, 52 and 50.
However, ‘Ball-run’ looked poised to go on to secure a first title of 2018 after resuming control of the match at 8-7 with a break of 111.
Yet, Day reduced Bingham to the role of spectator in the next two - with the Basildon man failing to register a point - to put himself within a frame of a second consecutive title after claiming last week’s Gibraltar Open.
And 37-year-old Day held his nerve in the 18th frame to claim his third title of the season on a re-spotted black.
“I didn’t play my best game but I fought as hard as I possibly could,” Day told World Snooker.
“I wasn’t at the races to start with so to finish the first session only 5-4 down was a bonus. When I got a chance on the re-spotted black, I just tried to stay still and push the cue through in a straight line, and luckily it went in.”
The win means Day - has won the Riga Masters, the Gibralatar Open and who has now won 11 consecutive matches.
