In wild card qualifiers, Jamie Burnett and Rod Lawler overcame local opposition to reach the first round proper. Lawler defeated Li Hang 5-2 while Burnett overcame Jin Hong 5-3

Lawler will now play World Championship semi-finalist Stephen Maguire in the first round proper, while 2010 World kingpin Neil Robertson is next for Burnett.
