The Kettering player will face Mark Allen in the best-of-19 frame final on Sunday after the Northern Irishman produced a classy display to overcome four-times world champion John Higgins 6-3.
Higgins opened with a break of 45 to win the opening frame, but runs of 63 and 90 helped Allen lead 3-1 against an opponent he had an 8-8 career head-to-head record with before this meeting.
Scotsman Higgins made his 700th career century of 131 to close to 3-2 behind only for Allen to run in 65 and 64 to move three up with only a possible four to play.
Again Higgins responded with a knock of 127, but despite being first among the balls in the ninth frame, he could only contribute 18 before a loose safety shot enabled Allen to slot a long red.
The Northern Irishman never looked back as a majestic knock of 75 saw him reach the Masters final for the first time in his career.
Earlier in the day, former UK champion Trump was the dominant figure in the early exchanges against fellow Englishman Wilson as breaks of 83, 52, 96 and 69 saw him lead 3-1 and 5-2 with Wilson compiling 81 to close to 3-2 behind.
Astonishingly, the world number three Trump would only score 28 more points in the final four frames as knocks of 57, 107 and 72 proved enough for 2015 Shanghai Masters winner Wilson - ranked at 14 in the world - to reach the final of the sport's biggest invitational event.
It was a bitterly disappointing ending for Trump, whose ill-advised attempt at a plant on two reds in the final frame on a break of 23 was his final shot of the tournament.
