‘The dream start’ – Wilson makes fast start with ton against Robertson

Kyren Wilson put in a blistering display at the World Snooker Championship, beating Neil Robertson 13-8 to head into the semi-finals at the Crucible.
As the two men began the morning session level at eight frames apiece, Wilson wasted little time stamping his authority on the match with a 133 clearance to take the lead.
Robertson looked to respond at the start of the 18th frame but failed to get going - making only 23 - as Wilson had luck on his side to extend his advantage and move two clear for the first time in the match.
A jittery frame from both followed but Wilson was able to take a three-frame lead as his opponent toiled and errors started to pile up.
Even as Wilson offered Robertson a way back in the 20th after sinking the cue ball on 21 while going for the green, the Australian couldn’t capitalise and failed to reach the pack with a similar shot almost immediately afterwards.
After missing a fairly routine black in the left corner pocket, Robertson was forced to concede to leave Wilson on the brink of victory.

From ‘Hail Mary’ pot to audible groans – The struggles of Wilson

Robertson’s final act of his tournament was a missed long red to the bottom left pocket allowing Wilson to finish the job with an efficient 84 to march into the final four.
Last year’s runner up faces the winner of the match between Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump.
