Three-time world champion Selby has a fight on his hands after Gary Wilson took a 5-3 overnight lead in their second-round encounter at the World Championship.

LONDON, ENGLAND - JANUARY 18: Mark Selby of England plays a shot during his quarter-final match against Judd Trump of England on day six of the 2019 Dafabet Masters at Alexandra Palace on January 18, 2019 in London, England.

Wilson started superbly as a 100 break handed him a 3-1 lead, but a couple of missed opportunities allowed Selby back in.
Leading 4-3, Wilson stole the last frame after a nervy exchange, sinking the green with the rest in mid-air to steer him towards a two-frame advantage.
Meanwhile, Kyren Wilson secured a second-round meeting with Barry Hawkins.
World No 8 Wilson led debutant Scott Donaldson 6-2 going into the evening session, and won four of the next six frames to complete the victory.
Hawkins awaits in the second round following his 10-1 demolition of Li Hang.

AFTERNOON SESSION

Ali Carter saw off the challenge of Jack Lisowski to advance to the second round of the World Championship in Sheffield.
Two-time runner-up Carter won 10-6 at the Crucible to book a meeting with Zhou Yuelong, who knocked world No 6 Mark Allen out on Wednesday.
After being locked at 2-2, Carter won three frames on the spin and kept his nose in front thereafter despite Lisowski enjoying a 124 break as he aimed to mount a comeback.

The other afternoon session saw Neil Robertson take a 5-3 lead in his second-round match against fellow former world champion Shaun Murphy.
In a high-quality affair, 2010 champion Robertson led 3-0 after scoring 106 in the first frame, but Murphy - winner in 2005 - battled back with a 109 to trail 4-2.
The pair then exchanged centuries, with Robertson securing a 124 before Murphy agonisingly missed out on a maximum.
Murphy had potted 14 reds and blacks, but the final red rattled the jaws of the left middle pocket as he looked to bring it back for the black, leaving him on 112.
