It pays to plan ahead.
Even if it's 21 years in advance.
One snooker fan is £10,000 richer after Judd Trump's World Championship triumph after betting on the then-eight-year-old prodigy to win the title.
The 29-year-old beat John Higgins 18-9 to claim his maiden world title on Monday night.
And Neil Morrice, 62, backed Trump in 1998, after watching him play at Keynsham snooker club, near Bristol. He placed £10 at odds of 1000/1 to win the title.
Although Trump nearly claimed the prize in 2011 when he lost to John Higgins in the final, he managed to beat the same opponent this time around.
For Morrice, it was just in time because his bet stipulated that Trump would win the title before he turned 30 - which he does on August 20th this year.
A spokesman for Coral, who paid out the winnings, told the Mirror: "Neil first saw Judd Trump in action when his 12-year-old son played a frame against him, and at the time he was so young he needed to stand on a box to reach the table."
