Sadowski-Synnott claims World title despite head injury

New Zealand starlet Zoi Sadowski-Synnott claimed slopestyle World Championship gold in Park City despite suffering from concussion.

Less than a month after claiming X Games gold the 17-year-old Kiwi was the top qualifier with 91.75 points as medals were handed out for qualifying scores in Utah.
Sadowski-Synnott revealed that she was not even going to take part in the final due to a head injury and found out that she had won her gold medal from the comfort of her own home.
The result meant she went one better than the silver medal she picked up in Spain two years ago while also achieving New Zealeand’s first-ever World Championship snowboard title.
Norway's Silje Norendal finished second with a score of 88.75 while American Olympic champion Jamie Anderson placed third in front of the home fans.
"I hurt my head and got a slight concussion - I'm out for a few days”, said Sadowski-Synnott.
"I wasn't riding the course - I wasn't going to compete in the finals today.
"I pretty much found out maybe 20 minutes before the medal ceremony - I found out sitting at home resting which was pretty cool.”
