Chaz Davies claimed his second victory of the Superbike World Championship in a curtailed race one at Imola.
Pole-sitter Davies was more than six seconds clear of the field when the race was stopped by a red flag on lap 12 following a crash for Eugene Laverty.
Laverty walked away from his spill but was immediately taken to the medical centre for a check up after his Aprilla machine went up in flames following the high-speed incident that left the track conditions unsafe.
And with 12 of the 19 scheduled laps completed the race result stood with Davies taking victory ahead of Jonathan Rea and Marco Melandri.
Tom Sykes came home to take fourth, with Xavi Fores in fifth and Leon Camier claiming sixth.
Michael van der Mark was seventh ahead of Yamaha team-mate Alex Lowes in eighth and the top 10 was rounded out by Roman Ramos and Stefan Bradl.
