Rachel Stringer becomes new World Superbikes presenter as motorbike season revs up on Warner Bros. Discovery

Bike fans can expect extensive live multi-platform coverage of both championships across Eurosport’s linear channels, discovery+ and Eurosport.com. This season will also see more on-site coverage of the World Superbike Championship with the team in the thick of the action for seven European rounds. Five Bennetts British Superbike Championship races will be broadcast free-to-air.

Warner Bros. Discovery today announces lights out on coverage of the 2023 FIM World Superbike and Bennetts British Superbike championships with a new presenting line-up.
Ahead of the third round, Eurosport can today reveal that Rachel Stringer will become the new lead presenter of the FIM Superbike World Championship, debuting at the TT Assen Circuit in the Netherlands on April 22. Initially joining Eurosport’s superbike coverage as a pit lane reporter in 2018, Stringer has fronted coverage of a number of British Superbikes races over the past five years.
She will be joined by the returning pair of British double World Superbike champion James Toseland and former rider turned Ducati coach, Chaz Davies. Greg Haines will also return as lead commentator to navigate viewers through all the twists and turns of the season.
Stringer commented: “I’m delighted to be stepping up to present Eurosport’s coverage of the World Superbikes this year. I’ve loved working with Matt and have learnt a lot over the years, so I certainly have a lot to live up to!
“With Alvaro Bautista setting the early pace this year, I’m confident Toprak and our own Jonathan Rea will come into contention later in the season following that amazing three-way tussle last year.
“I‘m also excited to see how reigning BSB champion and rookie Bradley Ray performs – I know there’s a lot of excitement amongst British fans out there for his debut in Assen. So lots to look forward to and I can’t wait to get started.”
Matt Roberts has taken the decision to focus exclusively on the upcoming Bennetts British Superbikes season. Having covered both series since 2014, Roberts will continue to cover the fiercely competitive domestic competition for the duration of the 11-round championship which will encompass the final three weekends known as The Showdown.
After nine years at the helm of Eurosport’s World Superbike coverage, Roberts said: “I’ve decided to step away from the World Superbikes coverage to spend more time with my family. Travelling the world covering bike racing has been a dream job for over two decades now and I’ve loved every minute of it, but I believe it is the right time for a change. As ever, I’m very much looking forward to the start of the British Superbike season, which promises to be another cracker.
“Rachel is a very talented presenter with a brilliant personality, and I couldn’t think of a better person to hand over the reins to. She brings fantastic energy and knowledge to all of her work and I have no doubt she’ll perfectly capture the excitement of another great World Superbike season ahead.”
During the upcoming season, Roberts will lead the coverage of the championship with expert analysis provided by six-time British Superbike champion Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne and former riders James Haydon and James Whitham.

He has established himself as one of the faces of the sport and brings a huge amount of expertise to our coverage.”
Eurosport can also announce that Tom Brooks will become the lead commentator for all British Superbike support races in 2023 covering the British Talent Cup, National Junior Superstock, Junior Supersport and the new BMW F900R Cup. Brooks has commentated on an array of two-wheeled motorsport since 2017, most notably as the voice of the FIM Superbike World Championship international broadcast feed.

Further to BT Sport’s exclusive live MotoGP coverage, subscribers will benefit from Eurosport’s full portfolio of motorsport in 2023, including every round of the FIM Speedway GP, FIA World Endurance Championship, British Speedway and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Ahead of the new MotoGP season, BT Sport Films aired Sheene, a documentary celebrating the life of two-time world champion Barry Sheene. It premiered on BT Sport 2 at 10pm on 26th March and is available for catch-up across BT Sport’s platforms.
