Italian Michel Fabrizio ended DFX Treme Honda’s pre-season test programme on a high by topping the times on the second day of testing at Valencia in Spain.
Former Moto GP rider Fabrizio, 22, who is aiming to improve on his 11th place in last year’s championship, was quickest in 1:35.200, on a day when Tuesday runners PSG1- Kawasaki did not take to the track.
2004 world champion James Toseland was 0.2 seconds slower as he completed a small amount of running on his Ten Kate Honda, but was not concerned about setting a time almost a second slower than in the tyre test at the same track in November.
Toseland, 26, said: “This test has just been a bit of a shakedown really. We didn't have much to test but it's nice to have a bit of a ride-out before the first race in 11 days time.
“It was quite breezy out there, but the tyres were pretty good considering the conditions, so I am happy.”
The second Treme Honda of the returning Australian Steve Martin was third quickest, while new Ten Kate signing Roberto Rolfo was slowest of the four riders present.
