Smrz Czechs in

The 24-year-old Czech replaces Roberto Rolfo in the single-bike operation for his debut World Superbike campaign after switching over from the 250cc world championship.

Smrz enjoyed his maiden outing, but will not have much time to get used to the bike before the season starts at Losail in Qatar on February 24.

“It was really just a first impression” said Smrz. “I don't have any experience with four strokes, so I consider myself happy with this first outing.

“For sure the first races will be an uphill experience, but fortunately the tracks in Qatar and Australia aren't new to me. The team and I have got to know each other and first impressions are positive. They are happy with their choice and I am looking forward with confidence to this new challenge.”
