Race One at Assen cancelled due to snow

Heavy snow conditions forced a cancellation of Race One of the World Superbikes at Assen.
After the track was hit with heavy snow, the drivers packed up in the paddock and they will try again on Sunday.
Light snow arrived during qualifying, in which Alvaro Bautista had claimed pole as he looks to extend his nine-race winning streak at the start of the season.
But the inclement weather conditions meant the race officials deemed things too dangerous and so proceedings were called to a halt.
This is despite fans trying to make the most of the snow by dancing around in the stands to keep warm.
Bautista was also caught playing around with a snowball in the garage as he tried to amuse himself.
