Women's 800m Freestyle
Laure Manaudou destroyed the field in the women's 800m freestyle, and just missed out in her bid to break her own world record.
The 20-year-old French sensation finished nearly six seconds ahead of 17-year-old Russian Anastasia Ivanenko, with Spain's Erika Villaecija Garcia winning the bronze.
Manaudou was over four seconds ahead of world record pace at 550m, but she tired in the final quarter of the race, and eventually fell outside her world record split with 25m metres to go to finish with a time 8:12.24 less than a second outside her world record (8:11.25)
Men's 400m Individual Medley
Hungary's Laszlo Cseh couldn't complete an individual medley double, as he was beaten by Italy's Luca Marin in the 400m individual medley.
Cseh, had won the 200m IM yesterday and holds the world record in this event, but despite leading going into the freestyle stage of the race he was beaten by Marin in the final 100m.
Marin completed the course in 4:01.71 to take gold, Cseh swam 4:03.39, and Ionnis Drymonakos got the bronze for Greece.
Women's 200m Breaststroke
Britain's Kirsty Balfour added the short course 200m breaststroke title to the long course gold she won in Budapest earlier in the year.
Balfour won the race in a British record time ahead of Anne Poleska of Germany who was second, with Poland's Beata Kaminska just winning the bronze ahead of Birte Steven.
Men's 100m Breaststroke
Ukraine completed a one-two in the men's 100m breaststroke, as Oleg Lisogor won gold ahead of team-mate Valeriy Dymo.
Lisogor's time of 58.14 was a little off his European record of 57.67, but it was still enough for him to nick victory ahead of Dymo, with Alexander Dale Oen of Norway coming in third.
Women's 100m Freestyle
Marleen Veldhuis showed she is ready to take the 100m freestyle mantle from her countrywomen Inge de Bruijn as she won gold in a championship record time.
The Dutchwoman produced a fantastic swim of 52.41 to beat France's Alena Popchanka by half a second with Sweden's Josefin Lillhage taking home bronze.
Women's 100m Backstroke
Laure Manaudou won her second gold of the night as she just edged out Germany's Antje Buschschulte in the 100m backstroke.
Despite having raced the gruelling 800m just over an hour previously, Manaudou once more showed her class to grab yet another gold.
Iryna Amshennikova of Ukraine took bronze.
Men's 100m Butterfly
European record holder Milorad Cavic showed that he is still a class act as he won the 100m butterfly title in a time of 50.63.
Cavic won the gold ahead of Slovenia's Peter Mankoc who won silver, and Nikolay Skvortsov of Russia who was third.
Germany's Thomas Rupprath who was the fastest qualifier, finished a disappointing fifth.
Women's 50m Butterfly
Sweden's Therese Alshammar was just 0.03 off the world record as she won the women's 50m butterfly in a time of 25.36
Alshammar beat Inge Dekker of the Netherlands into second, with fellow Swede and world record holder Anna-Karin Kammerling having to settle for bronze.
Men's 50m Backstroke
There was more disappointment for Thomas Rupprath in the 50m backstroke as he was beaten by team-mate Helge Meeuw in the race for gold.
Meeuw won the race in a time of 23.70, with world record holder Rupprath clocking 23.92.
The bronze medal went to Lubos Krizko of Slovakia.
Women's 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay
Thearese Alshammer won her second gold of the night as she raced the second leg in Sweden's victory in the women's 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
Assisted by Magdalena Kuras, Anna Karin Kammerling, and Josefin Lillhage, Alshammer's Swedish team beat the defending champions, the Netherlands, into second with a time of 1:36.61 which was just outside world record pace.
