Agassi started working with the 12-time Grand Slam winner ahead of last year’s French Open but stopped short of a year in the Djokovic camp.
The American explained that differences of opinion with the Serb lay behind the decision.
“With only the best intentions I tried to help Novak,” Agassi said in a statement released to ESPN.
We far too often found ourselves agreeing to disagree. I wish him only the best moving forward.
Djokovic reached the quarter-finals in Roland Garros, and subsequently at Wimbledon, but an elbow injury ruled him out for the rest of 2017.
With Agassi by his side in Melbourne, Djokovic suffered a shock defeat to Hyeong Chung in the fourth round of the Australian Open in January.
Radek Stepanek remains on Djokovic’s coaching team.
