Andy Murray filmed hitting at Wimbledon

Andy Murray’s comeback from hip surgery is showing encouraging signs, with footage emerging of the former world number one hitting at Wimbledon.

Murray, who has not played since the Australian Open, went under the knife to cure longstanding hip pain in January.

The 31-year-old was filmed practising at the All England Club – peculiarly on a green clay court – with Estonian Anett Kontaveit and GB junior Emma Raducanu on Friday.

While it is still unclear whether Murray can play professionally again, fans will be boosted by news he has returned to court so quickly.

He has previously admitted his hopes of playing Wimbledon this summer are below 50 per cent.
