Dan Evans shocked world number nine John Isner in the Delray Beach last four to reach his first final since serving a 12-month ban for cocaine.
The qualifier, who has largely played Challenger events since returning in April 2018, recovered from losing the first set to come through 3-6 6-2 6-3 in 92 minutes.
He will meet an unseeded player in the final, with Rabu Albot lying in wait. The Romanian beat Mackenzie McDonald 3-6 6-0 6-0.
Evans’ career looked in turmoil after he received a suspension following his positive drugs test, but he has mounted a fine revival and will break into the world’s top 100 with victory in Sunday’s final.
His scalp list in Florida also includes third seed Frances Tiafoe and sixth seed Andreas Seppi, while he came through two rounds of qualifiers to make the main draw.
