The Scot - who was involved in the match of the tournament on Thursday - will face Fernando Verdasco in the final.
Murray didn't hit the brilliant heights of his quarter-final against Kohlschreiber, but he didn't need to against a French opponent who wilted in the second set on centre court in Dubai.
The crowd still reacted warmly to the World No. 1, who dished out occasional gems on the way to his win.
“It was tough. I don't think it was the best match, but there was some good stuff in there, middle and towards the end of the first set,” Murray told the ATP after the match.
“I think potentially matches yesterday had something to do with that, because I think sometimes, if your legs are a little bit tired, that the serve is one of the first things that goes.
“As the match went on, I started serving a bit better and that helped me. The first set was very important to win after how the matches went yesterday.”
Verdasco - who beat Robin Haase earlier on Friday - will be searching for only his second win in 14 attempts against Murray when they meet in Saturday's final.
