What’s the big story?

The final warm-up before Wimbledon sees both the men’s and women’s tours hit the south coast, with the latter particularly well-stocked in terms of talent. The men's draw received a boost on Wednesday when Novak Djokovic confirmed his participation.
No less than seven of the world’s top 10 women will be competing at Eastbourne – although world number one Angelique Kerber may yet pull out after she withdrew from WTA Birmingham with a hamstring injury.
Jo Konta, world number seven, is the headline attraction for home supporters.

Which top players are there?

As well as Kerber and Konta, the women’s draw contains Karolina Pliskova (world number three), Dominika Cibulkova (six), Garbina Muguruza (14), Svetlana Kuznetsova (nine), Agnieszka Radwanska (10) and Caroline Wozniacki (8).
Aside from Djokovic, the big draws in the men’s half are Gael Monfils (world number 16), Pablo Cuevas (23), John Isner (21), Steve Johnson (25) and Richard Gasquet (30)

Which British talents are hoping to shine?

Konta is the only British woman in the draw but there are two men’s hopefuls with Kyle Edmund (world number 47) and Aljaz Bedene (54) in action. Dan Evans was supposed to take part but has tested positive for cocaine.
