The Scot's strong serve could not make up for some tentative approaches and significantly enough, it was an umpteenth failed approach that sealed Murray's fate as Tipsarevic broke him for the win on his third match point.

"I didn't deal with the conditions very well," Murray told reporters. "He didn't make too many mistakes and I was the one who missed everything."
The 21-year old Serb, winner of only his fifth encounter on the ATP circuit this year - plays American Robby Ginepri later on Wednesday in the second round.
