GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 6-4 TSONGA. The world number one stays focused to serve out the match in straight sets. He was far from his best but managed to handle the big moments better than JW, who will be pleased to be back on the big stage after a 2018 disrupted by injury. Djoker marches on and will meet Shapovalov next.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 5-4 TSONGA. The Frenchman sends a wild error way off court but regains his composure at 30-30 to pose the serve-out question to the world number one.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 5-3 TSONGA. Nole stays on course. He's irked by a double fault for 30-30 but JW doesn't get a look-in as the the Serbinator coolly takes the next two points to move within a game of victory.

DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 4-3 TSONGA. JW stays in touch but you sense his moment has passed. He has had plenty of openings in this match, but failed to make the most of them. The scoreline looks rather routine, but Djoker has not been firing on all cylinders. Perhaps he may give some insight into why in his post-match interviews.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 4-2 TSONGA. Djokovic consolidates with a routine hold to 15.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 3-2 TSONGA. How has Djokovic won that? The Serb hits back from 40-0 down and needs all his elasticity and famed defence to keep Tsonga at bay from deuce. He eventually wears down the Frenchman and makes the breakthrough. He's two sets and a break to the good and surely not far from booking a spot in round three.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 2-2 TSONGA. We are still on serve in the fledgling stages of this set as Tsonga roars through a solid hold before Nole claims one to love.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 1-1 TSONGA. Nole responds in kind with his own love hold.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 7-5 0-1 TSONGA. JW has dusted himself down and re-focused. He's enjoying being back on the big stage after his injury problems last year and isn't ready to finish just yet. He holds to love to kick off Set 3 on a positive note.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 6-5 TSONGA. Oh Jo, what are you doing?!
The Frenchman undoes all of his hard work with a rollercoaster service game. He fends off three break points and has his chances to hold, but more loose play allows Djoker to snare the game. He will now look to serve out the set for a second time.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-5 TSONGA. Wow. Not even Tsonga's camp though that was going to happen! An exquisite lob racks up triple break point for the Frenchman, who secures the break back to love when Nole sizzles a forehand a millimetre long of the postage stamp.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-4 TSONGA. JW poses the serve-out question with a strong hold.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 5-3 TSONGA. No surprise to see Djokovic consolidate with relative ease. He's one away from a two-set lead without being anywhere near his best.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-3 4-3 TSONGA. Oh no, Jo.
The Frenchman's fine work so far in this set looks to be undone as he fluffs a volley on break point.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 3-3 TSONGA. The Frenchman is left kicking himself. He has Nole on the ropes when he conjures up two break points courtesy of a quite sensational crosscourt lob off his backhand side. The chances are there for him, but he cracks a crosscourt forehand into the net to allow Djoker to make deuce. From there the inevitable happens as the world number one steps it up to pull himself level.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-3 TSONGA. JW chastises himself as a loose forehand allows Djoker a look-in at 30-30 from 30-0 down. The telling off seems to do the trick as he edges the next two points to maintain serve.
DJOKOVIC 6-3 2-2 TSONGA. So much for being out of sorts. He's a set up and moves level with an emphatic love hold. It just shows how high the Serb's standards are that he occasionally appears to be ruffled.
