The end of the video is met with a huge cheer from the crowd. "To have the respect of your peers is the most important thing, it's very nice that they took the time to do that for me," says Murray, who's looking exhausted and emotional.

"Maybe I'll see you again. I'll do everything possible to try...I'll give it my best shot." Murray wipes his face with his shirt - and then it's time for a video montage from his friends and colleagues on the tour. It includes John Isner, Nick Kyrgios, Marin Cilic, Rafael Nadal, Karolina Pliskova, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Caroline Wozniacki, all saying delightful things.

"I think I'm going to be all right," says Murray, with a nod to his family, who are clearly expecting more tears. "That was incredible. Thank you so, so much to everyone that came out tonight. Playing here over the years, it's an amazing place to play tennis...I gave literally everything I had. It wasn't enough tonight - congratulations to Roberto and his team."

What a nice speech.

"Today was an incredible night, no? Andy deserves this atmosphere, Andy deserves all the people who came to watch him. It was an unbelievable match. He's a tough fighter, tough opponent, he gives everything until the last point. I want to congratulate him for all he did for tennis." Roberto Bautista Agut pays tribute.

Everyone is on their feet, and Murray rises again to acknowledge the applause.

Murray hugs the man who vanquished him, and goes for a well-deserved sit-down.

BAUTISTA AGUT 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-7 6-2 MURRAY: Bautista Agut does what he has to. This can't have been an easy day at the office for him either. He has three match points, and the crowd is applauding Murray in advance. He takes the first, and it's all over.

BAUTISTA AGUT 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-7 5-2 MURRAY: 18th ace of the match for Murray to take a 30-15 lead. The luckiest of net cords for Bautista Agut takes it to 30-all, and one more shot into the net hands the Spaniard match point - but Murray saves that with such a clever move, running to the net and sending it across court. Murray deserves that game - and Bautista Agut has to serve this out if he wants it.

His mum looks as if she's about to cry. He does too.

Murray raises his racket to acknowledge the crowd's huge response to this imminent - possibly last - service game.
