Good morning and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the Australian Open men's singles semi final between Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas has made it to the final four at Melbourne Park before, but has never made it to the final of a Grand Slam. Can he break his duck here? Medvedev, however, knows what it takes to win a Grand Slam semi final. The Russian has one of the best two-handed backhands in the game. Could that be a factor?

MEDVEDEV 1-1 TSITSIPAS* (6-4)
That was disappointing from Tsitsipas. The number five seed had an opportunity at 15-30, but failed to apply any pressure in the next two points and Medvedev survives with a hold.

Tsitsipas looks a bit tight at the start of this second set, but finds his first serve in the nick of time to get out of trouble at deuce. Now, can he make any sort of impression on the Medvedev serve?

MEDVEDEV 6-4 TSITSIPAS
Medvedev wins the first set! Tsitsipas managed to save three set points, but there was nothing he could do as his Russian opponent slammed down an ace on a fourth to claim the first set. He has been the better player!

Tsitsipas had to fight to hold serve from 40-40, but the Greek has at least asked the question of Medvedev who will now have the opportunity to serve out the first set. Big game coming up.

Very confident hold of serve from Medvedev. He missed one forehand to give Tsitsipas a look in, but clinched the game with a backhand winner. Tsitsipas to serve to stay in the set.

That was a very important hold of serve from Tsitsipas. He needed that to stay within touching distance of Medvedev. The Greek came to net in that game. Could that be a thread to pull on?

MEDVEDEV 4-2 TSITSIPAS*
All of a sudden there's a sense that Medvedev is dominating this first set. A love hold to consolidate the break. Tsitsipas needs to start making more of an impression when returning.

The first break of the match goes the way of the Russian! Tsitsipas looked comfortable at 30-0, but played a poor game from there and Medvedev made the most of the opportunity.

A love hold from Medvedev. There was a magnificent point right at the start of the game. It already feels like this one could go the distance between these two players!

Another hold of serve for Tsitsipas. The Greek has started this match very solidly. He's not going for too much too early, which he has been guilty of in the past when starting big matches.

A comfortable service hold for Medvedev and the Russian sees out the game with a trademark screwed backhand winner. It's such a strange shot, but you can't deny its effectiveness!

Tsitsipas got off to a slow start in his match against Nadal in the last round, but not here. The Greek lost the first point on his serve, but was very solid in his next four and holds.

Tsitsipas to serve first... let's get this one going!
