Zverev secures his place in the Australian Open quarter finals with an ace. With the exception of the end of the second set when he made things more difficult for himself, this was an impressive performance by the US Open finalist.

Zverev is now two sets and a break in the third up as he races towards a place in the Australian Open quarter finals. It's a long, long way back for Lajovic from this point.

Zverev made more of a fuss of that than looked likely towards the end of the second set when he had the chance to serve it out. The German was broken, forced into a tie break where he finally grinds it out against Lajovic, who to his credit hasn't gone away.

Zverev takes the first set in 49 minutes and after a shaky start the number six seed has been in control of this match. The scoreline doesn't actually reflect the extent to which Zverev dominated.

Zverev breaks again and he's in front in this first set for the first time. That was a really good return game from the German. He was right on top of the Lajovic serve, forcing his opponent into mistakes.
