He's done it! What a win for Berrettini. He was two sets up, then pegged back by a resurgent Monfils, then found his best level again to surge to victory. He will face Rafael Nadal for a place in his second Grand Slam final.

Monfils holds and Berrettini will try and serve for a place in the semi-finals after nearly four hours.

Excellent from Berrettini as he powers up the forehand and then sticks away a drop volley. Two more volleys seal the game for Berrettini, who looks so dialled in right now.

Monfils gets on the scoreboard in the fifth set with a service hold, but the finish line is in sight for Berrettini.

Incredible how this match has changed in the fifth set. Berrettini has been completely dominant. Monfils has only won five points, including the first two in the set.

The momentum has shifted a bit and it's now Berrettini who's on top and controlling more of the points with his powerful forehand. Two break points for the Italian and, following a lengthy delay as someone from the crowd is ejected for making too much noise, the double break is secured as Monfils nets.

A love hold for Berrettini. Has Monfils got another comeback in him?

No sign of a change of approach from Monfils, he is continuing to play on the front foot and looking to hit winners. An opportunity for Berrettini at 30-30 though, and he lobs Monfils, who scrambles back to hit a tweener that Berrettini volleys away. Berrettini can't convert the break point but he does take his next chance to get the break.

Mats Wilander: "This is maybe the two best sets I have seen Monfils play in years, he looks strong physically and mentally. There's no way Berrettini can come back from this if Monfils can keep this level up."

Set point number five for Monfils. This time Berrettini misses his first serve and he then nets a backhand and Monfils breaks to take this compelling match to a fifth set. Wowee.

Berrettini is not happy with noises coming from the crowd during his serve and asks umpire James Keothavong to have a word, which he does. The Italian still does not look happy, although a fine backhand winner down the line should raise his spirits a little. That saves a set point, and he comes to the net and puts away a drop volley to save another. A forehand winner denies Monfils the set again as the game passes 10 minutes in length.

Another quick hold from Monfils, who is still looking the dominant force in this match. He’s one game away from forcing a deciding set.

A quick hold for Berrettini. That was very much needed for the Italian, who does not seem to have the same power in his serve or forehand as he did earlier in the match.

Monfils is playing so well right now. He's looking confident, going for his shots and hitting the lines. He has taken control of this match and gets through another comfortable service hold.

'Let's go Gael, let's go' is the chant from the crowd as Monfils gets to 0-30. A couple of bad errors from Monfils sees the advantage slip away but he wins a net exchange to get to deuce. Monfils then comes up with two huge forehand winners to break - the second a rifled shot down the line that just catches the back of the line.

A 62-second game for Monfils as he quickly gets back on level terms in the fourth set.
