WHO WILL JOIN NADAL IN THE FINAL? Good morning and welcome to our coverage of Stefanos Tsitsipas' semi-final meeting with Daniil Medvedev on Rod Laver Arena. Whoever wins will meet Rafael Nadal in the final, following his 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win against Matteo Berrettini.

"Some tennis matches, it is very even," says Medvedev, when asked to identify the decisive moment in his win. "I feel like, in a few moments, I maybe missed some balls where I could have got a break, he missed a few in the beginning of the third set, and then, starting from 5-4 in the third, I just found some momentum and something in the eyes to try to read his serve. I tried to put every ball in and made a few very important passing shots. His energy went down because of this, especially after the third set, and my energy was going on the up. I think it would have gone up even more if the match had continued."

Asked about his verbal volley at umpire Jaume Campistol midway through the match, Medvedev suggests it was an error on his part. "To be honest, I don't think emotions like that help me too much," he says. "When I made it, many times before I have lost a match because of this because you lose concentration and lose too much energy, which maybe in the fourth set [leaves you with] not enough. So as soon as I'd done it I was like: 'That was a big mistake.' I'm happy that I managed to reconcentrate for the beginning of the third set."

Medvedev goes through to his second consecutive Australian Open final. Furious outbursts aside, that was a beautifully composed performance which reaffirmed his status as the tournament favourite.

It's all over for Tsitsipas. Medvedev sets up another break point, coming to the net to win the decisive rally with a driven forehand which leaves his opponent rooted to the spot.

Tsitsipas can't find a way through Medvedev's steel-plated defence, with the Russian dropping a single point en route to another hold.

Tsitsipas yields two break points after some fantastic play from Medvedev. The Russian breaks at the first time of asking in a moment which could well decide the outcome of the match.

Medvedev is left with a furrowed brow after dropping a couple of points, but he sees out the game nonetheless.

Tsitsipas drops a single point on the way to winning his first service game of the fourth set. He gets a coaching warning in the aftermath, which will leave Medvedev feeling vindicated.

Medvedev wins his third game on the trot, holding with ease. Tsitsipas needs to reassert himself.

Medvedev senses an opportunity, winning the opening point before smashing a shot down the line to make it 0-30. Another smart winner gives him three set points. Tsitsipas defends the first, but a thunderous rally ends with him spooning a return well wide. Medvedev raises his racquet in triumph.

It's another love hold for Medvedev. Could we be heading towards another tie-break here, or will someone drop their guard for a decisive break?

Tsitsipas wins three points in quick succession before an unforced forehand error gives Medvedev a sniff. Tsitsipas recovers well, however.

Medvedev's serve continues to be absolutely lethal. Tsitsipas is struggling to return at the moment, let alone break.

Tsitsipas opens with another drop shot but, this time, Medvedev gets there and returns with a vengeance. The world No 4 wins three points on the bounce, but drops two more to take the game to deuce. Tsitsipas wins an extended rally with a fantastic forehand volley, but then slices a shot into the net to squander his advantage. He finally sees out the game with a forehand smash followed by a big first serve which Medvedev can't return.

Medvedev holds to love, continuing to look dominant on serve. Fine margins, but the Russian seems to have a slight edge right now.

Medvedev is on the prowl, but Tsitsipas seems determined not to give him an opening. He sees out another service game, keeping his cool under pressure.

Medvedev drops a single point on the way to another hold. This match is so, so close.

It's a bit of a struggle, but Tsitsipas holds. Medvedev is hitting some venemous shots at the moment.
