Konta 6-4 6-1 Zhang. Game, set and match. Zhang goes for too much on an inisde out forehand approach shot, before Konta goes long with a backhand return of serve down the centre of the court. Another forehand return goes well long from the Brit but she levels at deuce with a solid forehand, close to the line but not on to it, that Zhang cannot deal with. A blistering forehand return of serve winner across court brings up a first match point for Konta. The chance goes begging with a tight backhand low into the net from the Brit, but she gets a second chance after Zhang nets a backhand off her own. Zhang saves this one with an extra injection of pace on a forehand winner down the line. But a double fault hands Konta a third chance and this time she does get secure victory, her forehand return of serve catching the top of the tape and bouncing just over.
Konta 6-4 5-1 Zhang. Konta now potentially just one game away from her first Grand Slam semi-final as she holds to consolidate the double break. Again it's a tough service game for the Brit as Zhang pushes her all the way to deuce. Zhang then belts a brilliant forehand return of serve down the centre of the court to bring up break back point before netting a more straight forward down the line forehand to squander the chance. But the Chinese player goes for too much on a big cross court forehand across court before Konta holds with a solid first serve that Zhang can only net.

Konta 6-4 4-1 Zhang. Break. Zhang looks to be having a much better time on serve this time around as she opens with two big forehand winners. But Konta matches that with two forehand winners of her own to bring up another break point and sure enough the Brit does secure her fourth consecutive break of the Zhang serve when the Chinese player makes her way into the net only to miss with her volley.
Konta 6-4 3-1 Zhang. Service games continue to be far from easy for Konta as Zhang again pushes the Brit to 30-all before struggling to deal with the Konta serve once again and failing to find the court with consecutive forehands. That consolidates the break for the Brit.

Konta 6-4 2-1 Zhang. Break. Konta continues to have just far too much weight of show for Zhang as she breaks at the first attempt when the world number 133 nets a forehand.
Konta 6-4 1-1 Zhang. An ace, Konta's seventh of the match so far, see the Brit match Zhang's easy opening service hold with one of her own to get her second set ticking over.
Konta 6-4 0-1 Zhang. Zhang holds for the loss of just the one point for the opening game of this second set,

Konta 6-4 Zhang. Set. A tough service game again for Konta as she looks to service out this set for the second time. Zhang adds extra pressure by levelling at deuce with a blistering backhand winner. But Konta sneaks ahead again with an ace and this time she does wrap up the set before two big serves that Zhang can't deal with.
Konta 5-4 Zhang. Konta denies Zhang on a first game point with a low inside out backhand volley into the open space across court but the world number 133 does hold at the second set with a forehand volley winner. Konta will serve for the set for a second time after the change of ends.

Konta 5-3 Zhang. Break. A better return from Zhang brings up a break back point as it draws the forehand error from Konta. But a second serve ace from the Brit denies Zhang before she brings up a first set point with a change-of-direction backhand winner guided across court. The chance goes begging with a forehand just long down the centre of the court. Another ace brings up a second set point for Konta but again she can't quite take advantage as a forehand down the line just marginally misses it's target. A third chance is brought up with a booming backhand winner down the line but this time it's a double fault that sees the chance go begging before Zhang batters a forehand winner down the line to bring up a second break point. This time the Chinese player does get one of her breaks back when Konta slaps down her second double fault. Zhang will still have to serve to keep this set alive.

Konta 5-2 Zhang. Break. Konta opens the game with a blistering, 150kph backhand winner whipped across court, before going love-30 up on a double fault from Zhang. That quickly becomes three more break points when Zhang goes well wide with an inside out backhand across court. But one chance is all Konta needs to secure the double break and she nails a forehand return of serve winner across the court and right on to the line. Konta will serve for the opening set after the change of ends.
Konta 4-2 Zhang. Konta eases through a love service hold, sealed when Zhang fails to find the court with a backhand return. The Brit is looking very solid and secure so far today.
