Mike and Bob Bryan successfully defended their Australian Open title with a 7-5 7-5 win over Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi.
The 28-year-old American twins won their fifth Grand Slam title in an hour and a half on Rod Laver Arena gaining revenge for three consecutive defeats at the hands of Bjorkman and Mirnyi.
"It's a great start to the year for us," Mike Bryan said after beating their opponents for the second time in a grand slam final.
The Bryan brothers were playing their fourth straight Melbourne final and took the opening set after 43 minutes.
The second set was much the same and the brothers clinched victory on their sixth match point by breaking Bjorkman's serve.
The 34-year-old Bjorkman, who has won 50 career doubles titles, said he would consider having one more tilt at the Melbourne Park title.
"It would be a pleasure to come back maybe one more year," the Swede said.
