Naomi Osaka dug deep to book her place in the third round of the Australian Open with a 6-2 6-4 win over Tamara Zidansek.
The 2018 US Open champion set up a third-round clash with Su-Wei Hsieh after coming back from a break down in the second set at the Margaret Court Arena.
Osaka trailed 2-4 in the second set to the Slovenian, but won four straight games and will now have her sights on a place in the last 16.
The number four seed was tested by her opponent with Zidansek not capitalising on two break points in the final game.
Osaka stepped up to the plate when needed to confirm her date with the 28th seed Hsieh in an hour and six minutes, underlining why many see her among the favourites to win the tournament.
