PAIRE 1-6 4-6 1-6 NADAL: Paire persists with his failing drop shot to give Nadal match point. He rescues it, though, but he's hanging his head. Second match point is also saved thanks to Paire's powerful hitting, but Nadal can't be held off for long. Crushing.

PAIRE 1-6 4-6 1-4 NADAL: Rafael Nadal is luring Paire to the net, and leaving him stranded there. Absolutely vicious.

PAIRE 1-6 4-6 0-2 NADAL: Paire looking utterly miserable and sluggish, glaring at everyone.

Benoit Paire is holding his stomach and does not look a happy man.

PAIRE 1-6 4-6 NADAL: The crowd are getting really very restless here, what with all the concern over marks and the questioning of how long people are taking over each point.

Disagreement over a mark at 30-15 - Paire has the umpire out of his chair - but the score stays the same and Nadal then brings up two set points.

I quite like Nadal's mauve top and trainer combo.

Back on Lenglen, Nadal has broken and will serve for the second set after change of ends.

Paire threatens the Nadal serve, getting to 30-all before Nadal grabs the game. But this is tight now.

Paire is into this now, and confidently serves out from deuce at 3-3. Only two more holds to force a tie-break - at least.

Nadal, though, remains Nadal. He quickly earns two break points, but then a serve out wide forces him to net. But oh dear me, he's short with a return, Paire comes to the net to clean up, and a wild swing cedes that for which he worked so hard. So, back on serve at 3-2, with Nadal having taken the first set 6-4.

Check out Benoit Paire! A big forehand, and he's broken Nadal to lead the second set 3-1!

All the difference.

Nadal is looking strong, serving for the first set at 5-1. And who knew, he clinches it to love.

On Lenglen, a brilliant backhand, on the run and down the line, has given Nadal a break. He's 3-1 ahead in the first set.

And what a photo this is.

On Lenglen, Nadal is about to get going. Frew McMillan reckons Djokovic will beat him, if he makes it that far, on the basis that he's got his number and had it for sometime.
