Welcome back to Thanasi Kokkinakis, who's played really well today. But he's still been beaten, polished of by Kei Nishikori 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

Nishikori has just saved three break-points, so Kokkinakis is now serving at 1-1 in the third, 2-1 down.

Nishikori has broken Kokkinakis and is serving for the set at 5-4. At 30-15, he plays a monstrus forehand into the backhand corner, glides to the net and puts the volley away, but when he comes in again, Kokkinakis passes him with a forehand down the line. But he can't keep up the pressure, hitting another forehand into the tramlines, and that's the set, 6-4! Nishikori leads 2-1!

Nishikori has broken back on Court 1, so it's now 4-3 Kokkinakis and one-set all. Kokkinakis has barely played for a year and a half too, so this is a phenoenal effort.

As I said, Nishikori is running away with this now - Kokkinakis leads him 3-1 in the third.

Set to Nishikori, 6-1, making it 1-1. You'd expect him to step on it now.

Normal service resumed on Court 1 - a set down, Nishikori has raced to a 5-1 second set lead over Kokkinakis.

Kokkinakis is serving for the first set against Nishikori, and after an ill-timed double-fault, respinds with an ace to give himself advantage. He's hitting his forehand really well, but then, after creating an opportunity for a winner, finds the tramline. Nishikori, incidentally, is appallingly dressed, in bottle green top, khaki shorts, and light orange headband. Anyway, he earns a break-point, saved with an ace, another ace follows, then a service winner, and there we go! 6-4! The number 8 seed is in strife!
