Former world number one Gustavo Kuerten has dismissed claims that Roger Federer could be the greatest tennis player of all time insisting that Pete Sampras was "much better."
Kuerten also went on to say that he felt Ayrton Senna was a better driver than Michael Schumacher in an interview with TV Globo in his native Brazil.
"In Formula One, Schumacher took advantage of Senna's death to conquer the sport, just like Federer took advantage of the vacuum left by Sampras to obtain his victories," said Kuerten.
"Both are good players, but I prefer Sampras."
Kuerten won the French Open three times and has beaten both Federer and Sampras in his career.
However, he has struggled in recent years, and is now ranked 1,113th in the world after being inactive on the tour since mid-February.
