Good evening and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE coverage of the Paris Masters quarter-final between Casper Ruud and Sascha Zverev. We'll bring you all the action as it happens in the French capital.

GAME, SET, MATCH... ZVEREV! Ruud 5-7, 4-6 Zverev: That was a very impressive performance by Zverev against a very good opponent in Ruud. The Norwegian played some fantastic tennis, but it wasn't enough! It's Medvedev in the semi-finals for Zverev now.

RUUD 4-5 ZVEREV* (5-7): Ruud has asked the question of the world number four. Can Zverev close this match out? It's been such a high level from the two men right from the start.

*RUUD 3-5 ZVEREV (5-7): That was impressive from Zverev who managed to put the previous game out of his mind to hold serve comfortable. That might not have happened even last year! Much stronger mentally.

RUUD 3-4 ZVEREV* (5-7): Ruud just about hangs on after saving FIVE break points. Zverev had the opportunity to get the double break which might have finished this match!

*RUUD 2-4 ZVEREV (5-7): The finishing line is starting to come into sight for the world number four as he moves to within just two games of a place in the semi-finals against Medvedev!

RUUD 2-3 ZVEREV* (5-7): A very welcome love hold for Ruud. That's the first game he's won in four. You still get the sense even after that hold that the momentum is with Zverev.

*RUUD 1-3 ZVEREV (5-7): Out of jail! Ruud had THREE break points at 0-40, but couldn't take any of them as Zverev tightened up the errors and won five points in a row to hold!

RUUD 1-2 ZVEREV* (5-7): Break! There were a couple of exceptional forehands from Zverev in that game and that was enough to give him the break against the Ruud serve!

*RUUD 1-1 ZVEREV (5-7): Zverev still hasn't faced a break point on his serve this evening, and Ruud had a decent opportunity at 30-30 in this game. Controlled aggression from the German.

RUUD 1-0 ZVEREV* (5-7): The first point of the second set saw Zverev take control, but Ruud responds well and the Norwegian clinches game point with a very clever sliced drop shot.

FIRST SET, ZVEREV! Ruud 5-7 Zverev: That first set was a real battle, but it's Zverev who claims it and he hasn't faced a single break point in this match! Ruud has played some great tennis too!

RUUD 5-6 ZVEREV*: Break! Zverev strikes first and he has the crucial break at the end of the first set! Some incredible hitting from both players in that game! More winners than errors tonight so far.

*RUUD 5-5 ZVEREV: The pressure shifts instantly back on to Zverev who holds to love. That serve gives him such an advantage over his opponents. Not many double faults tonight either.

RUUD 5-4 ZVEREV*: That was the first time Ruud had been truly tested on serve, but he saves a break point and finds some really solid tennis to hold once more in this first set.

*RUUD 4-4 ZVEREV: A love hold for Zvevev whose serve gave him the advantage in every point he played in that game. Who's going to blink first here? Both players playing well.

RUUD 4-3 ZVEREV*: This is some mightily impressive tennis from Ruud who looks like he wants to out-muscle and out-hit Zverev from the back of the court tonight. Bold!

*RUUD 3-3 ZVEREV: There were a couple of statement points from Ruud in that game as he out-hit Zverev from the back of the court, but the German stays on serve in this first set.

RUUD 3-2 ZVEREV*: This has been a really good start to the match by Ruud who is holding his own at the baseline against one of the biggest hitters in the men's game right now.

*RUUD 2-2 ZVEREV: A few more unforced errors from Zverev than Ruud at the start of this match, but the German has such a big game that he has been able to fend off any trouble.
