Swiatek has done it! A backhand into the net from Jabeur sees Swiatek defend her Rome title! Swiatek breaks down into tears on the clay after sealing her 28th match win in a row and her fifth straight title! There's a real release of emotion from Swiatek. It is the first time she has ever defended a title. She only dropped four games en route to a convincing win in one hour and 23 minutes.

Some more fabulous play from Jabeur! She races into a 0-40 lead. Swiatek saves all three with fine winners. Swiatek's first double fault of the match hands Jabeur another break point, but again the Pole saves it with a deft sliced volley. The net cord helps Swiatek take advantage before taking the game with an unreturnable serve. Swiatek within a game of defending her title.

Four points in a row from Jabeur. That was her best game of the match so far. Can she break back again before it's too late?

Jabeur earns herself two break points. The first one she makes a mess of as she play a tame shot by the net which Swiatek can swipe back at her, but she takes the second one with a firm volley winner at the net. Jabeur pulls a break back!

Jabeur looks dejected. A double fault from Jabeur gives Swiatek the chance to double break. She rescues one before the Pole secures the second when Jabuer rips a cross-court forehand just out. The umpire checks the mark and, yes, it was definitely out. Swiatek two games away from the Rome title.

A fine crosscourt winner puts Swiatek in complete control. Jabeur just cannot compete with Swiatek's power and mobility at the baseline right now.

After an unforced error from Jabeur, she hits a forehand winner which gets the crowd excited. Swiatek follows up with another poor forehand and Jabeur has her first break point of the match, but she squanders it with an overzealous forehand. Swiatek reels off the next two points to hold serve, but that was much better from Jabeur. She can sense Swiatek is getting a bit frustrated with some of her own shot selections.

An utterly dominant first set from Swiatek, wrapping it up in 37 minutes. On her second set point on Jabeur's serve, Swiatek converts as the world No. 7 fails to return a ferocious forehand. Swiatek is now just a set away from her fifth straight title.

A couple of aces makes for Jabeur's most comfortable hold of the match so far, but there is still a lot for her to do to find a way of breaking Swiatek down.

A punishing Swiatek forehand is too much for Jabeur who can only flick it out with her backhand. Swiatek is in full control of this and is yet to face a break point from the world No. 7.

The 20-year-old is yet to be troubled against Jabeur, comfortably holding her serve to race into a commanding lead in 11 minutes. Jabeur may have to bring in more of her signature dropshots and play with greater variety to turn this her way.

Just like her previous two matches Jabeur has got off to a slightly erratic start, making a flurry of unforced errors and it's given Swiatek an early break.
