Serena Williams has revealed she will not necessarily encourage her daughter to play tennis from an early age.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion, who lost the US Open final in controversial circumstances, is back at the top of the game after giving birth to Alexis Olympia Ohanian.
And the American has now revealed that she will allow her 1-year-old daughter freedom to choose whatever she would like to do.
"I'd encourage her if she wanted to go out and play, not necessarily tennis but whatever she wants to do," Williams told the Brisbane Times.
"But we have the rest of our lives to be a grown-up. That's something my dad always told me. You have the rest of your life to be an adult, so enjoy your youth while you can."
Williams also revealed she is constantly worried about her daughter's safety and puts a lot of thought into the moments she shares with the world on social media.
"[The best part is] every day, waking up and knowing this person is going to keep growing, and screaming, having fun, and going to grow up and be an adult.
"[The toughest part] is I just want her to be safe. We try to keep [social media posts] really authentic and keep it to moments where that we really want to share. Some moments we choose to share. Lots and lots and lots of moments we don't. But somehow it works out."
