Tennis news - Gael Monfils reveals the 'funniest player on Tour' and his perfect doubles partner

Although he's probably got a claim for the title himself, Gael Monfils is modest when naming the funniest player on the ATP Tour.

The flamboyant Frenchman told Tennis World USA: "I go for Dustin Brown. [He's] very cool".

And as for his perfect partner in doubles, Monfils says it is his hero: "Arthur Ashe. Because he was my idol, now because he passed away. I watched him a lot."

The world No 39 also opened up on the most incorrect thing that has been said about him.

"(That I am) unprofessional," he replies.

Finally, in terms of his own funny character, he reveals it stems from: "The way I have been raised, the way I feel, life is short and we just have to enjoy."
