Roger Federer said his 7-6 7-6 6-4 victory over Serb Novak Djokovic in the US Open final was more difficult than the score suggests.

"I think straight sets was a bit brutal for Novak, to be honest," world number one Federer told the crowd after claiming his fourth successive US Open crown.
"He deserved better than that. He's had a fantastic run, not only this tournament but the entire year.
"I told him at the net 'keep it up.' We're going to have many more battles I think."
The victory gave Federer his 12th grand slam title, moving him into a tie for second place on the all-time list with Roy Emerson, two behind the record held by Pete Sampras.
The Swiss master said he still had to battle nerves.
"I can admit that. I've been upset stomach the last few days. Nervous, shaking, cold hands before the match. I've had it all. And I'm supposed to be the experienced guy whose gotten used to the situation.
"But you never do get used to it.
"Too nice to be true, to be back in a grand slam final," added Federer, who extended his own record by reaching his 10th grand slam final in a row.
"I really enjoyed tonight. I've enjoyed the entire two weeks. Thanks for your support and, of course, I'm looking forward to coming back next year."
Federer pocketed $2.4 million for his triumph, adding a $1 million bonus for leading the US Open series of run-up events to the $1.4 million top prize.
"The pocket is getting heavy," he joked.
