Serena Williams hailed her 'incredible' journey since giving birth a year ago to reaching the US Open final with a victory over Anastasija Sevastova, on Thursday.

After beating the Latvian 6-3 6-0, Williams said: "Every day I step out on this court I am so grateful to have an opportunity to play this sport.
"So no matter what happens in any match, I already feel like I have already won."
After taking over a year out following her Australian Open win in 2017, to give birth to her daughter Olympia, Williams has shown remarkable form over the course of the tournament.
Williams, who is approaching her 37th birthday at the end of the month, said of her return: "This is just the beginning. I'm only a few months in and really looking forward to the rest of the year and next year.
"I just feel like there's a lot of growth still to go in my game. That's actually the most exciting part - even though I'm not a spring chicken, I still have a very, very bright future."
The win means WIlliams will have another opportunity to compete for her 24th Grand Slam title, after losing to Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon final earlier this year. A 24th title would put Williams equal with the record number of Grand Slam titles, currently held by Margaret Court.
WIlliams will play Japan's Naomi Osaka in the final on Saturday.
