BREAK! GAME, SET AND MATCH! - KERBER 6-3 7-5 KASATKINA. That is one of the best concluding games of a match you're likely to see. Kasatkina plays some sensational shots, including a crosscourt dropshot to stave off one of six match points, but she can't thwart Kerber on the seventh and the German moves in to the last four to meet Ostapenko after one hour and 28 minutes.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 6-5 KASATKINA. A massive roar of delight from Angie. No understated celebration this time. She breaks again and has another chance to serve this match out.

Del Potro books a last eight showdown with Nadal after seeing off Simon in four sets.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 5-5 KASATKINA. It's a disaster for Kerber. She's too conservative once again. A second ace of the match does little to help from 0-30 and Kasatkina breaks back to stay in contention. Kerber may yet look back at that game in dismay.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 5-4 KASATKINA. It's an understated pumping of the fist from Kerber as she finds a second wind and breaks again with a deep crosscourt forehand that's just too good. She will now serve for the match.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 4-4 KASATKINA. It's a shocker from Kerber, but some wonderful shot selection and angle on the forehand attack from Kasatkina. The German looks in control at 40-15 but inexplicably tenses up. Daria gets to deuce and piles on the pressure before breaking at the third attempt. All square.

Meanwhile, in the men's draw, the match still to finish after being suspended last night has also had some rollercoaster moments.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 4-3 KASATKINA. The Daria rollercoaster continues. The double faults have been a problem as have the unforced errors that are now clocking over 20 so far. Kerber breaks on her second opportunity and wrestles the momentum back her way.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 3-3 KASATKINA. Fist pumps all around. Kasatkina gets her mojo flowing and works her way to triple break point. Kerber fends off one, but it's too much to do and we are back on serve!

KERBER 6-3 3-2 KASATKINA. The Russian stays in touch. Can she find something special to turn the tide? She needs to cut out the occasional moments of sloppiness as Kerber almost hits back from 40-0 down but can't quite make it to deuce.

KERBER 6-3 3-1 KASATKINA. That is so solid from Kerber. She consolidates with a highly efficient hold to 15.

BREAK! - KERBER 6-3 2-1 KASATKINA. Oh dear. The No.14 seed endures more service woes. She's lacking the consistency that Kerber has in abundance. The Russian serves one break point, but Kerber won't let her wriggle free from deuce and the German is now firmly in the driving seat.

KERBER 6-3 1-1 KASATKINA. Daria hits an audacious tweener - but ends up losing the point, and the game to 30. The crowd are loving her. She may lose today, but there's no doubt she's a star-in-the-making.

KERBER 6-3 0-1 KASATKINA. An ace and a pair of winners help Kasatkina get the first game of Set 2 off to a brilliant start.

SET! - KERBER 6-3 KASATKINA. Daria drifts a backhand long and it sees Kerber take the set in 32 minutes. The Russian hit the point of the game with a sweeping crosscourt drive-volley, but it was all she could muster as the No.11 seed kept her cool to serve it out.

Angelique Kerber

BREAK! - KERBER 5-3 KASATKINA. Just when it looked like Kerber was in for a dog fight for this set, Kasatkina gifts the German the break advantage once more. The double faults are again very costly and you fancy Angie will see out the opener from here.

BREAK! - KERBER 4-3 KASATKINA. Daria is in the building! The young Russian works her way to two break points and converts on the second. She dictates the play brilliantly before unloading a corking winner up the line. The passionate fist pumps show just what it means to her too.

Daria Kasatkina

KERBER 4-2 KASATKINA. That's a superb hold from 15-40 down. Kasatkina is beginning to use the full repertoire and it's making it tough for Kerber to anticipate. Will that change the course of the set? We'll see.

KERBER 4-1 KASATKINA. There are signs that Daria is starting to find her rhythm, but Angie is having none of it. She lands some good first serves and clocks up an easy hold to 15.

KERBER 3-1 KASATKINA. A big wide serve does the damage as Kasatkina gets herself on the board after Kerber had threatened by reeling her back to 40-30.

KERBER 3-0 KASATKINA. Kerber is off to a real flyer. She backs up the break with a superb love hold. Kasatkina needs to find her feet - and quick.

BREAK! - KERBER 2-0 KASATKINA. Daria gets a bit of stage fright and throws in couple of double faults as she's broken to 15.

KERBER 1-0 KASATKINA. It's a stern examination of the Kerber serve right from the off. Kasatkina hits back from 0-30 and claims an immediate break point. Kerber digs deep and gets on the board after some near misses at deuce.

Kerber will serve first.

Kasatkina: "This is what I call experience. You're getting used to these things. It's really good because I will go on the court with the feeling that it's just the next match, it's not like something huge."

HEAD-TO-HEAD: This will be the seventh time the players have met. It currently stands at 3-3 with Kerber winning their most recent clash 6-1 6-7 7-6 in the Eastbourne quarter final a few weeks back.

Hello and welcome to ladies' quarter final day at Wimbledon 2018. It promises to be an intriguing afternoon of tennis as it is the first time since seedings were introduced in 1927 that none of the top eight women on the tour have made it to the last eight.
