Naomi Broady bowed out of the ASB Classic in Auckland after losing in straight sets to Sloane Stephens.
Broady has had a solid run at the competition, beatting Ana Ivanovic aand Jelena Ostapenko to secure her spot in the last eight.
After stunning former world number one Ivanovic, the British number three had a controversial contest with Ostapenko with the Latvian appearing to throw her racket and hit a ball boy.
But her clash with Stephens was a simpler affair with the American taking the first set on a tie-break 8-6 and, despite breaking the American in the second, Broady could to little to combat her dominance.
But Broady says she is happy with her performances, describing the tournament as an unforgettable experience.
"Don’t think I've ever walked off court after losing with a smile on my face," she said on social media. "Auckland I love you!
"Thanks for such an amazing tournament and the best support I've ever experienced outside of my home country. Totally unforgettable."
