AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 6-4 - GAME, SET & MATCH! AZARENKA HAS WON HER 68TH MATCH OF THE YEAR! Kerber sends a cross court backhand just wide and the world number one is off to a winning start. What a match from Kerber though. Great fight from the German, who has done herself proud despite now not being able to make the semi-finals.

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 5-4 - Having saved two match points at this stage in the second set, Azarenka now has two of her own after landing a winner just inside the line ...

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 5-4 - BREAK! Kerber's not done yet! Two great forehand winners see the German race out to a 0-30 lead. Azarenka came back at her again with a couple of typically furious groundstrokes but yet another forehand that Vika cannot return in play hands Kerber a break back point. Azarenka thinks she's saved it with an ace but Kerber challenges and the ball is out and a backhand wide from the Belarusian under extreme pressure in the rally and KERBER HAS BROKEN BACK AGAIN!

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 5-3 - BREAK! Ouch. A double fault from Kerber (her fourth of the match tonight) gifts Azarenka two break points. It's bullish stuff from the German though as she saves the first with a series of brutal forehands that eventually draws the error. And she also saves the second in much the same manner but Azarenka earns herself a third chance and this time she gets it when Kerber sends a forehand long

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 4-3 - Azarenka holds a pretty straightforward service game to sneak out in front once again. Just the one point dropped by Vika in that game, on a forehand error, and just a few signs of tiredness creeping into Kerber game now
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 3-3 - An outrageous shot from Kerber, an off-forehand half-volley on the baseline across court and basically without moving her feet, leaves Azarenka shooting a look over the net after eventually losing the point. The German has to dig deep though as Azarenka pushes her to deuce, albeit it at no point holding a break point. We're still level on serve in this final set
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 3-2 - Azarenka stops the rot with a solid service hold of her own to sneak out in front again, albeit only on serve
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 2-2 - Kerber races through a solid service game to level up this final set and this is a complete turnaround. She looked tired at the beginning of this set but that steely, determined look of the second set has returned and Azarenka is not out of trouble yet

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 2-1 - BREAK! Well, well! Kerber is still in the match as she breaks straight back with a couple of cracking forehand winners before Azarenka sends her backhand just marginally wide. Flip flopping momentum in this final set!

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 2-0 - BREAK! Kerber battling hard but those shots which for Azarenka were just missing in the second set are now just dropping in as the Belarusian earns herself a break point. The German left-hander pulls Vika up to the net with a drop shot before finding the forehand down the line to save the break point but Azarenka earns herself a second chance and this time does break with a forehand winner down the line. Ouch. Azarenka looking the much more likely victor now.
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) 1-0 - Azarenka opens the final set with a love service hold when Kerber wallops a forehand straight into the top of the net. Important service game coming up for the German next. She'll have the new balls though
-
As the players take a comfort break in between sets, we'll updated you with the answer to the question about the players Azarenka has lost to this year. Marion Bartoli (in Miami), Maria Sharapova (in Stuttgart), Serena Williams (in Madrid, Wimbledon, the Olympics & the US Open), Dominika Cibulkova (at the French Open) & the retirement came against Tamira Paszek (in Montreal). So only five women have beaten her on only eight occasions this year. Phenomenal stuff.

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 7-6(2) - SET! Azarenka earns herself five set points to level this match ... Kerber leaves Vika with a wry smile after saving the first. But the Belarusian takes it at the second attempt with a mid-court forehand winner down the line. We are going to a third. And, from a neutral point of view, the quality of play from both players so far tonight really has demanded that.

AZARENKA 6-7(11) 6-6(5-1) - TIE-BREAK! It will take a lot for Kerber to come back from this now as Azarenka races out to a very comfortable lead at the change of ends in the breaker. Understandably a bit of a comedown for the German. She came back in the first set breaker though, can she do it again?
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 6-6 - Boom! A love service hold from Azarenka this time as she forces the second set breaker without any drama of the previous game. Great stuff from the world number one and, with the exception of Kerber, who doesn't want to see this match go to a third set?!
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 5-6 - There is no sign of that injury that Kerber looked for a second like she might have sustained. She twisted awkwardly during that epic ninth game of this set. She called for the trainer but is yet to actually have any treatment and it looks like it was just a case of jarring something
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 5-6 - Kerber just narrowly misses a cross court groundstroke (confirmed by hawkeye) but yet another ace down the T - her sixth - levels the game at 30-30. And the German goes on to hold with a stunning cross court backhand passing shot despite the fact that she was retreating!
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 5-5 - Two stunning points from Azarenka as she saves both the match points with barely a flicker on her face. And the world number one goes on to show everyone exactly why she is world number one with a couple of gutsy points to hold. A test for Kerber now as she attempts to put that disappointment behind her and stay on course
-
AZARENKA 6-7(11) 4-5 - TWO MATCH POINTS TO KERBER. Azarenka drops the first two points on another couple of errors (albeit forced) before flinging her racquet to the ground in disgust. Kerber then sets up the match points with a stunning stretched forehand volley winner ...
