Dementieva: Serve a threat
Fourth seed Elena Dementieva meets Serbian Ana Ivanovic for the first time in their Indian Wells quarter-final on Thursday. The Russian goes into the match as the favourite, but says Ivanovic's big serve could pose the biggest threat.
"I've never played against her. I watched her a lot last year. I think she's very talented. It's going to be tough match for me. She has a great serve, you know, very powerful play," said the two-time Grand Slam winner.
"Like I said, it's going to be our first meeting. If she wins today, it's going to be very interesting for me."
Dementieva goes into the match after two tight three-set victories over Belarussian Anastasia Yakimara and India's Sania Mirza, but is adamant that the match practice can only be a positive thing.
"Sometimes you really need to play some difficult three-set matches before you can get the rhythm and just find your game. I think that's what's happened to me here. "
