Caroline Garcia came from a set down to beat Johanna Konta 3-6 6-3 7-6(1) to progress to the fourth round in Indian Wells, California
Despite struggling with her serve throughout, Konta, 25, was the definition of efficiency as she dispatched the only break opportunity of the first stanza to secure a one-set lead.
However, Garcia, ranked 25 in the world, capitalised on Konta’s continued struggles with her first serve to break in the second to level matters before dominating a third-set tie-break to secure her spot in the next round.
She will face either Roberta Vinci or Svetlana Kuznetsova for a place in the quarter-finals.
