Having built a career lasting 20 years, Claire Wright at last makes the giant leap on to the biggest stage of all.
With more than 50 World and European Trampolining medals won during that time, her selection for the Olympic Games is much deserved.
This tally includes seven consecutive British Championship golds.
Her career trajectory has been recognised with the award of the FIG pin - an acknowledgement of having achieved high international standards.
Such dedication to her sport is exemplified by a training regime of five hours each day working on the trampoline, general fitness and practicising pilates.
She is the proud owner of a Sports Science degree and is looking to supplement it with a qualification in Nutrition. So even her extra-curricular activities go hand-in-hand with her work.
She suffered disappointment at the 2008 European Championships by being edged out of the medals.
At 28 years of age, clearly the sport has not become a bore for Wright and she still enjoys the buzz of training, competing and striving to better herself every day.
