He and co-driver Ilka Minor had complained of sore ribs and back pain but tests revealed no broken bones and were given the green light to compete on the ecent given that Bozian Racing, the team who runs the car for Stohl, manages to build a new 307 WRC in time for the start on Friday.
“We do hurt all over – but we definitely want to compete in the rally,” Stohl said.
Team boss Jacky Bozian is confident that his team can get the job done and provide a new car for his Austrian driver in time for Thursday's ceremonial start in Salou. “The car did take quite some damage but we are confident to get the Peugeot up and running in time for the rally."
