Leader Björk reveals his WTCC focus
Thed Björk says he’s focused and relaxed ahead of WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan at Twin Ring Motegi.
The FIA World Touring Car Championship-leading Swede was only ninth fastest in Free Practice 1 yesterday afternoon but insisted getting it right on race day is all that matters.
“We tried some [set-up] stuff that was not working but it was a normal Free Practice 1 testing different things,” said Björk, part of the three-strong factory Polestar Cyan Racing team in the WTCC. “My focus is just to continue focusing on what I am doing and do it in a relaxed way, optimising the car and me together just to be as fast as possible.
“I’m the leader of the championship and it feels a very nice feeling to be leading this highly competitive championship. I just focus on doing the same thing that I always do.”
