WTCC Trophy Teams’ success for Sébastien Loeb Racing
Sébastien Loeb Racing, the team co-owned by the multiple World Rally champion and WTCC race winner, cannot be caught in the battle for the WTCC Teams’ Trophy title for the second successive season following last weekend’s WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of Japan.
Maximum points from Tom Chilton and Mehdi Bennani at Twin Ring Motegi on Sunday put the title beyond doubt with four races remaining.
Afterwards, both drivers were full of praise for their team. Chilton said: “I was saying on the radio to the boys what a great job we’ve done with the chassis because I was so consistent, I can do the same tenth of a second every single lap because it’s so easy to drive and that's all credit to the team and the engineer.”
Bennani added: “We scored some points and it’s good to stay close to everybody at the top of the championship. Well done to Sébastien Loeb Racing.”
OSCARO-backed John Filippi is also French team’s attack in 2017.
